Business Mapping to Generate Actionable Intelligence
October 28, 10:00 - 11:00 AM Central Time
There are significant distinctions (not always appreciated) among data, information and intelligence.
Too often, based on our experience working with senior executives especially at the strategic levels, that CI professionals present data and information, not always intelligence to them.
As well, data and information are often presented in tabular or textual format – making it difficult to assess its significance quickly and effectively, often frustrating executives with limited time.
KappaWest has developed a suite of “maps” that can be used to depict data and information about markets, competitors and other planning factors in ways that make it much easier to generate actionable intelligence, for example:
-Opportunities the organization can exploit
-Obstacles it will have to overcome
-Risks or threats that its plans must deal with
-Needs that it will have to fill
These maps can be applied at all levels of business planning … grand strategy, strategic, operational and tactical. They are especially useful in supporting Business Wargames, which will be the topic of our concurrent webinar on December 9.
Takeaways from this webinar:
-Introduce yourself to the concept and use of "maps" to help convert data into information, and information into actionable business intelligence.
-Prepare yourself to use a selected set of maps in real-life business intelligence applications
